Disclaimer

The firmware version of your iFlight BNF has been thoroughly tested and validated to be reliable by our factory. Please proceed with caution, as we do not manage firmware development! Our factory default firmware has been carefully selected to ensure optimum safety and usability. Updating to firmware options not recommended by iFlight could cause difficulties or pose risks to you and your surroundings, potentially leading to loss or damage to your drone.

Your iFlight BNF has been meticulously set up and tuned to achieve an optimal blend of performance, stability, and flight duration. It is configured the way it is for a reason. Watching a handful of YouTube videos will not instantly master you in drone settings, so resist the urge to experiment. Our suggestion? Take your drone out and enjoy the thrill of flying rather than risk the headache of bricking or unbricking your firmware!

Always conduct a risk assessment before flashing new firmware, applying new presets, or altering settings on your BNF drone.

If you still choose to upgrade the firmware or restore it manually, please remember to back up your current configuration and bear full responsibility for any adverse consequences resulting from your actions!

For Betaflight versions BF4.3 and above, access the Preset/factory dump through the Presets tab.

If the dump is unavailable, contact our Support team via Freshdesk:

https://iflightrc.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new

CAUTION: DON'T update if you're a beginner or if there's nothing wrong with your iFlight BNF.

How to Backup Your Firmware Configuration Using the Presets Tab:

1) Access the official Betaflight Preset library by clicking the Presets tab located on the left-hand side of the Configurator. By default, iFlight Presets are not included, as we maintain and update our own library.

2) Click on "Save backup" to export a record of all your drone's current settings. Safely store this file; it will serve as a valuable resource when needed.

Remember that this backup can ONLY be applied to the corresponding Betaflight firmware version. If you're not sure what version you're on, just check the header of the just-generated backup file. For example, the version is 4.4.1. Going down a bit you also see the board_name IFLIGHT_BLITZ_F722 which represents the flight controller model and name of the firmware target I'd have to flash.

How to Add the iFlight Factory Preset Library:

1. Access the Presets tab in the Configurator and click on "Preset sources" to add the iFlight Preset library.

2. Click "Add new source" and enter the following details:

Name: iFlight Factory Recovery

Url: https://github.com/XING-IF/firmware-presets/

GitHub branch: iFlight-factory-recovery

3. Click on "Save" and "Make it active" then "OK" to close the window and load the Presets into the Configurator.

4. Select the Category "BNF". Make sure all other options are empty.

5. The available factory tunes appear for many different iFlight BNFs.

If you cannot find the corresponding preset, please check whether the selected firmware version is consistent with the version on your FC. If you finally can't find your model, please send a ticket to our support page.

IMPORTANT: Each preset specifies a required firmware version that must be flashed before applying the preset. The RC1 in the name is only a marker for "Release Candidate 1" which is our internal way of tracking the preset releases.

How to Restore the iFlight Factory Default Preset:

1. The available preset is made for the latest firmware version that is tested and found reliable by our factory, for example, if the version is 4.3.2, we have to flash the firmware 4.3.2 before we can apply the preset.

2. Presets are model or version-specific and include necessary settings adjustments. Carefully read the preset description and select options carefully.

Navigate to the Presets tab, select "BNF" in the Categories dropdown, and keep other keywords empty.

3. Choose your BNF drone model and version, and carefully read the preset description to avoid configuration errors.

4. Use "Options" to select variant options.

If those options are not self explanatory please go ahead and join our Team iFlight Facebook group or our Facebook community chat to get excellent help of our pilots there:

If you need our support then come and send us a ticket on our Freshdesk:

5. Click "Pick" to confirm your selection. You are responsible for any modification of your gear, also flashing back and forth different presets! Please remember that!

6. Then "Save and Reboot" to initiate the preset recovery process. Upon completion, your BNF drone will revert to factory default settings.

CAUTION: Always conduct a test flight in a safe, confined area. Do not endanger the drone, yourself, or others. We cannot be held responsible for adjustments made to your drone's settings. Always ensure you understand and double-check the settings, check motor temperature, and flight stability, and confirm there are no issues before flying over water or in high-risk environments.
